Chocolate Chip Chewy Bars

Do you remember those delicious chewy granola bars growing up when we were kids? I wanted to try and make a homemade version so here they are. They are higher in protein and healthy fats compared to your standard chewy granola bar but in my humble opinion, they taste even better.

Ingredients:

2 cups oats

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup almond butter (or hazelnut butter)

1/4 cup melted honey

1/2 cup chocolate chips

topping: 2 tbsp coconut flakes


Directions:

1. gather all of your ingredients along with a mixing bowl

2.melt nut butters and honey in the microwave for 30 seconds

3.add nut butters and melted honey to oats

4.line a baking dish with parchment paper

5. add 1/4 cup chocolate chips to the mixture

6. press mixture evenly into the tray and freeze for one hour

7.melt chocolate and drizzle over the bars, top with coconut flakes and refreeze for 15 minutes

8.cut into bars and enjoy!
